Susie Glass

Played by Kaya Scodelario

Susie runs the Glass family’s day-to-day criminal operation while her father is in prison. Halstead’s new owner has to negotiate with a businesswoman who knows the enterprise far better than he does.

Biography

Susie introduces Eddie to the cannabis farm beneath his estate. She is an experienced operator working for Bobby, not a newcomer learning the business alongside the Duke. Her respect for her father is central to the relationship described in Netflix’s cast guide.[1][2]

The Gentlemen

Season 1

Reveal Season 1 story spoilers

Jack’s near-fatal beating intensifies Susie’s conflict with Henry Collins and Stanley Johnston. In the finale she and Eddie cooperate to eliminate rival bidders, but the official explanation stresses that their partnership does not erase mutual distrust. The series does not finish with an uncomplicated romantic resolution.[2]

Season 2

Reveal Season 2 story spoilers

Susie helps take the Glass operation into Italy, but begins to question the limits imposed by her father. She supports Eddie’s attempt to profit from decriminalization and is punished after Bobby discovers their disobedience. During a separate venture with her old acquaintance Joe Green, she enters the cocaine trade and meets Carlos Vargas. Joe’s deception destroys their partnership: Susie sends him to Vargas’s associates rather than fleeing with him, and turns that decision into an independent business opening. Bella is not simply a romantic rival; after initially asserting the business hierarchy, Susie comes to respect her. Hawthorne’s attack on Susie’s emotional isolation and Eddie’s increasing volatility unsettle her. In the finale she helps Eddie stop the mistaken hit on Bobby. Their bond survives, but Susie is quietly building her own relationships and supply lines with Vargas, no longer assuming that either Bobby or Eddie can define her future.[13][14][15]

Personality

Reveal story spoilers

Susie is controlled, sardonic and commercially capable. She can challenge Eddie without losing sight of the business, but her respect for Bobby and concern for Jack expose loyalties stronger than a purely financial calculation. Her willingness to work with Eddie after a breach of trust is pragmatic rather than forgetful; Scodelario describes her as someone who may forgive but does not forget.[1][2]

Physical Appearance

Reveal story spoilers

Susie mixes luxury tailoring with vintage pieces and conspicuous accessories. Her fish-market look pairs red-soled shoes with a coat, trousers, red bag and beret; another ensemble is a red velvet jacket, shirt and trousers. Bontemps designed these looks to command attention rather than blend into the aristocratic setting.

Luxury labels, vintage pieces and bold prints are combined with oversized sunglasses, headscarves, large earrings and heels. In Italy she embraces leopard print; even her sauna look retains Chanel and jewelry.[11][16]

Notes

Susie’s respect for Bobby is documented, but Scodelario’s imagined account of her listening to business meetings at six years old is an actor’s creative preparation, not a confirmed childhood scene. It should not be converted into canon biography.[1][2][12]
