Geoff is Halstead Manor’s gamekeeper. Netflix’s cast guide emphasizes his detailed knowledge of the land and his attachment to both the estate and the family. He is not another duke or an outside criminal investor: his authority comes from experience, discretion and years of service. The full name Geoffrey Seacombe appears in the television cast listing; Netflix generally uses Geoff Seacombe.[1][2][3][4]
Geoffrey Seacombe
Played by Vinnie Jones
Usually called Geoff, Halstead’s gamekeeper knows the estate and the Hornimans better than most outsiders ever will. His quiet competence makes him a practical ally, a keeper of confidences and a protector of the family.
Biography
The Gentlemen
Season 1
Reveal Season 1 story spoilers
Jones describes Geoff as someone to whom the Horniman men bring their problems and in whom the late Duke placed his confidence. That makes the gamekeeper a custodian of family secrets as well as the grounds. The official cast guide explicitly includes helping conceal bodies among his protective duties. His loyalty should therefore not be mistaken for innocence: the work of preserving Halstead can include hiding the family’s crimes.
The season-one finale confirms that Geoff is Charly’s biological father. Her mother, Lady Sabrina, had an affair with him. Charly works out the truth after returning from university pregnant and reassessing her own childhood. Netflix’s finale guide treats this as an established revelation, not merely a fan theory or an ambiguous resemblance. The late Duke is not her biological father.
Geoff and Charly acknowledge their connection in a restrained conversation in the finale. According to Netflix’s explanation, neither needs to say father or daughter for the meaning to be clear. It reframes his devotion to the household: protecting the Hornimans has also meant protecting his own child. That last reading is an interpretation of the confirmed parentage and loyalty, not a separate on-screen declaration of his motives.[1][2]
Season 2
Reveal Season 2 story spoilers
Geoff’s relationship with Sabrina deepens, and the arrival of his grandson Tarquin gives his loyalty to Halstead an unmistakably personal stake. Charly wants him to become a godfather, and initially he says he needs no ceremonial title to remain part of the family. She ultimately asks him at the christening, and he accepts. His practical service to Eddie also extends into violence, including helping him with Moretti’s off-the-books assignment. In Episode 7, mercenaries invade Halstead to abduct Tarquin. Geoff protects Sabrina, coordinates with Nanny and George, and fights through the raid to recover the baby. The episode reveals the lethal competence behind his habitual restraint without explaining a detailed earlier career. Jones describes the rescue as an expression of devotion to his own blood, not an appetite for spectacle.[14][15][16][17][18]
Personality
Reveal story spoilers
Geoff is restrained, observant and fiercely loyal to the Hornimans. His intimate knowledge of the grounds makes him a practical problem-solver, but discretion matters just as much: the family brings him problems and secrets. His willingness to conceal bodies shows that this loyalty can outweigh ordinary moral or legal boundaries.[1]
Physical Appearance
Geoff is shown with short dark hair and practical, muted clothing. In the official still he wears a dark button-front work shirt rather than a formal suit. The understated presentation is consistent with his working role on the estate, although that association is a reading of the costume rather than a statement about his inner life.[13]
