The official cast guide pairs Jimmy’s cultivation expertise with a gentle disposition and a habit of getting high on his own product. Susie tolerates failings that might otherwise be difficult to overlook because he is good at producing the crop.[1][2][3]
Jimmy Chang
Played by Michael Vu
Jimmy is Susie’s cannabis specialist. His growing skills make him valuable to the operation, even when his distractibility makes everyone else’s job harder.
Biography
The Gentlemen
Season 1
Reveal Season 1 story spoilers
The official episode-three synopsis places Jimmy’s distraction alongside delayed deliveries. Netflix’s finale explanation identifies the cannabis theft in that episode as part of Stanley Johnston’s pressure campaign. These sources establish the operational consequence without requiring an invented account of Jimmy’s background.[2][3]
Season 2
Reveal Season 2 story spoilers
Jimmy remains the operation’s chief grower as the Glass business expands. His farm becomes the scene of a labor dispute, and he alerts Eddie and Susie that the workers have reduced production. When barrels of cannabis disappear after the confrontation with Ned, Jimmy supplies a crucial warning: the stolen batch is experimental and not ready for sale because of its serious adverse effects. His expertise therefore matters beyond producing a profitable crop; he understands a danger that the thieves have not accounted for.[14][15][16]
Personality
Jimmy is gentle and sincere, but easily distracted and frequently high on the cannabis he grows. His expertise makes him valuable enough for Susie to tolerate weaknesses that would otherwise threaten his position. His operational mistakes therefore sit beside genuine skill; neither a sinister mastermind nor an entirely useless employee is a fair account of him.[1]
Physical Appearance
Jimmy’s published character still shows a multicoloured knitted earflap hat, long dark hair, facial hair and a soft brown hooded top. The informal layers are visibly different from the polished tailoring of Eddie and Susie. No height, age or measurements are inferred from the image.[12]
