Cico Maldini

Played by Michele Morrone

A well-connected but unreliable Italian fixer entrusted with helping Eddie and Susie establish their operation abroad.

Biography

Cico is a small-time Italian criminal with an extensive network of contacts. He is Bella’s husband and initially acts as Eddie and Susie’s local guide to the criminal landscape of northern Italy. The value of his connections does not make him a trustworthy partner.[1][2][3]

The Gentlemen

Netflix introduces Cico as a new Season 2 player. His involvement belongs to the Italian expansion rather than to a verified Season 1 plot.[1][2][3]

Season 2

Reveal Season 2 story spoilers

Cico and Bella visit Halstead for the shooting weekend. He claims that Marco Moretti has discovered the cannabis operation and demands a large annual payment, then proposes acquiring a Botticelli painting to win Marco over. After the expensive auction purchase, thieves try to take the painting back. Interrogating Robert leads Eddie and Susie to Cico, who has used the name Gino de Bambi. The painting was his, and the theft would let him keep both the sale money and the artwork. Eddie and Susie arrange direct contact with Marco and expose the deception in Italy. Cico is killed by being fed to a tiger; Bella later takes over his liaison role.[1][2][3]

Personality

Reveal story spoilers

Cico’s dishonesty is demonstrated by the painting scheme, not merely asserted by people who dislike him. His jealous behavior toward Bella and his affected complaint that a sound bottle of wine is corked also expose insecurity beneath the performance of sophistication. He is useful because he knows people, but repeatedly undermines that usefulness through self-serving decisions.[1][2][3]

Physical Appearance

A retrieved style article captions Cico in a relaxed pose with a cigarette in his hand. That is the supported visual detail retained here; the article does not establish character height, eye color, or a consistent costume inventory.[4]

Notes

Reveal story spoilers

Francesco is corroborated by ELLE and the episode guide. Gino de Bambi is the name Robert gives his Italian contact during the painting investigation; the investigators identify that contact as Cico. It is treated as an alias in that specific fraud, not as a separate character.[1][2][3]
