Jack Glass

Played by Harry Goodwins

Jack helps with the Glass family business when needed, but his own ambition is in boxing. His career puts another member of Susie’s family in reach of the organization’s enemies.

Biography

Netflix describes Jack as a boxer pursuing success in the ring while occasionally helping Susie. The guide also notes that his romantic distractions compete with the discipline his sporting ambitions require.[1][2][3]

The Gentlemen

Season 1

Reveal Season 1 story spoilers

A fixed match in episode six leaves Jack close to death. Netflix attributes the scheme to Stanley Johnston, with Henry Collins arranging the fight. The injury becomes a major reason for Susie’s pursuit of revenge in the closing episodes.[2]

Season 2

Reveal Season 2 story spoilers

Jack takes on more responsibility in the Glass organization while retaining his boxing ambitions and unruly personal life. Eddie and Susie enlist him in their effort to cultivate Lord Hawthorne, whose interest in Jack becomes part of the political bargaining. Jack accompanies the peer socially but makes clear that sexual contact is not part of the arrangement. He also protects Susie during the cocaine venture: when Arturo’s men threaten her, Jack arrives disguised as a delivery driver and shoots the men escorting her away. He then agrees to dispose of the bodies without telling Bobby, placing loyalty to his sister above immediately reporting her independent enterprise to their father.[12][13][14]

Personality

Jack is ambitious about boxing but struggles to keep his romantic life from competing with his training. He is willing to assist Susie, yet the ring offers a personal goal separate from managing the family empire. These are the tensions identified in the official character guide; his later injury should not be mistaken for proof that he lacks sporting ability.[1]

Physical Appearance

In the official boxing still, Jack has a lean, muscular build, medium-length light-brown hair and visible arm tattoos. He is bare-chested in blue boxing shorts and checked gloves. This describes the character as pictured in the ring, not the actor’s measurements or sporting record.[11]

Notes

Jack Glass is Harry Goodwins’s television boxer, not a film-continuity character. His family relationships and sporting ambitions are established independently of actor publicity.[1][2][3]
