Richard

Played by Ian Bonar

An accountant whose knowledge makes him a target of the Italian organization’s London assignment.

Biography

Richard is identified in episode-credit listings as the accountant pursued in the Takashi assignment. He is living with his wife and children in a protected location.[1][2][3][4]

The Gentlemen

Season 1

Reveal Season 1 story spoilers

The published TVmaze appearance record lists Richard in Episode 2x02, Episode 2x03, Episode 2x06, all in Season 2, and records no Season 1 credit. This is the scope of that retrieved credit record; no unseen Season 1 activities or earlier-life events are invented here.[8]

Season 2

Reveal Season 2 story spoilers

After obtaining the location, Takashi intends to kill the household, but Eddie and Geoff stop him. Eddie then makes the accountant send his family away under the pretext of dealing with a rat in the kitchen. Richard pleads that he is innocent; when Eddie hesitates to shoot, he tries to defend himself with a knife and Eddie kills him. Bella later confirms the man’s account: he had seen an email he should not have seen, rather than committed the wrongdoing Eddie was led to believe. His death returns in Eddie’s disturbing visions.[1][2][3][4]

Personality

Reveal story spoilers

His efforts center on protecting his family and surviving a threat he cannot talk away. Sending the household out and then resisting Eddie are immediate responses to mortal danger, not grounds for inventing a criminal ambition or a long history of deception.[1][2][3][4]

Notes

Reveal story spoilers

The narrative recaps usually call him the accountant. Ian Bonar and the name Richard are corroborated by the episode-credit inventory. The apparent visions are not treated as a resurrection.[1][2][3][4]
