The Gentlemen

Season 1

Reveal Season 1 story spoilers

Ahmed meets Eddie while he is serving near the Syrian border of Turkey and tells him that his father has suffered a serious fall. Arrangements have already been made with Eddie’s superiors for his return, bringing him back into the succession crisis at Halstead.[1][2][3]

Season 2

Reveal Season 2 story spoilers

Ahmed advises Eddie on the proposed purchase of the MacDougall estate and later confronts the financial consequences of Eddie’s break with Bobby. He explains that much of Eddie’s money is locked into investments and cannot be released quickly enough to satisfy Marco’s demand. He also proposes abandoning estate purchases to recover funds, an option Eddie refuses. In Italy, Eddie asks Ahmed to investigate Angelica, and Eddie later uses knowledge of her Hong Kong financial interests to gain leverage against her.[6][7][8]

Personality

Ahmed handles the family emergency in an orderly, practical way: when he tells Eddie about his father’s fall, the return has already been cleared with Eddie’s military superiors. This supports a narrow reading of professional preparedness. It does not establish broader private loyalties, emotional detachment or knowledge of the hidden drug operation.[2]

Notes

Ranjit Krishnamma’s actor-role pairing is confirmed in the episode-one and episode-eight credit pages. These sources do not justify assigning Ahmed a secret criminal allegiance or an invented family relationship.[1][2][3]
